Dear NVT, I am preparing a NVDA manual (booklet) based on the SEFA campaign booklet, for use in the Project Sandcastle, which is stopping mining in the D'Entrecasteaux National Park. I will try to send over a bit of an article on Project Sandcastle, but as you can imagine, life is hectic, especially with Paul gone south. We are, however, keeping up a steady flow of Project Sandcastle activities, usually one a week, either at Northcliffe or in the city, with a total of twenty or so arrests so far. Cooperation with police is excellent, but the media is taking a while as the actions are only ten to twenty people at a time. We get good radio coverage but not much TV, and I guess you wouldn't have heard much over there yet. Patsy Molloy Guildford, WA Dear NVT, On the 25th March the Bellingen Environment Centre organised a solidarity action for the Penan in Bellingen in front of the Mitre-10. We handed out brochures in an attempt to educate the public on not buying rainforest timbers. Belinda Little B.E.C. Dear NVT, I am due to appear in the Federal Court in Melbourne at 9:45am on Wednesday 22 April 1992, in my latest war tax resistance trial. At this trial I must respond to new charges which relate to my conscientious refusal to comply with the directives of the previous Federal Court judgment (which bankrupted me) and the provisions of the Bankruptcy Act. Robert J. Burrowes Eds Note: For those who haven't been following the story, this court appearance is the latest of a long series, resulting from Rob's conscientious refusal to pay 10% of his tax for war. One possible outcome is Rob's summary imprisonment until he agrees to comply with the Bankruptcy Act. See Rob's article War Tax Resistance: How You Can Help on page 13 of this issue.
