Debriefing Workshop A two day workshop with Glen Alderson, from the evening of Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October, 1993, at Commonground. Cost: Between $50 and $100 on a sliding scale depending on income and travel costs. Activists can easily get caught up in the action of what they are doing and fail to address or deal with the feelings that this action raises. This workshop will look at how we can incorporate dealing with our feelings into all our work. The workshop will cover aspects of debriefing such as a large scale organised debrief after a major action, ending campaigns and dealing with global despair at a personal level. There will be input, discussion, and role-play with work on issues raised by the participants. Glen Alderson works as part of the Commonground Collective running workshops on a range of subjects related to small group effectiveness such as personal empowerment, communication, dealing with conflict and organisational evaluation and planning. Personal Empowerment Workshop A weekend workshop with Glen Alderson, from Friday 30th July (7pm) to Sunday 1st August (5.30 pm). We will start with dinner together at 7pm.on Friday. This workshop is about personal empowerment for social activists, and maximising our potential to effect social change. To be our most effective as social activists we need to be in touch with our strengths and to be the most powerful people we can be. However often we are not! What stops us? This workshop will focus in depth on the blockages; old family messages and internalised voices which carry society's messages. We will use a variety of drama, action methods, ritual and role play to explore and act upon these blockages which stand in the way of us realising our fullest possible power and potential. We will also celebrate our strengths and courage and have a lot of fun together!
