Dear Dave,

Alas I didn't get the time to e-mail you the story before I filed it for news, but it seems, in their wisdom, they've spiked it anyway.
I don't know why, and I apologise for their lack of interest.
Perhaps if you let me know when there is another advance in the story, I can again submit something, hoping it will get a run.
In all probability, the day it was filed there was too much other ''news'' around.
