About the Cover
The cover is an Australian Associated Press (AAP) photo, taken in Moscow
during the coup.  A Soviet Federal army officer insists to a crowd outside
Red Square that troops in the city would not use their weapons.  In this kind
of nonviolent resistance, children, women and old people are usually
critically involved (in contrast to the dominance of young men in guerilla
warfare).

Editorial Collective
We hope Nonviolence Today will promote nonviolence in a broad sense.  It is
strictly nonprofit and all editors donate their time and use of personal
resources.  The editors for this issue were Jan, Janelle, Jerry and David.

and practice of nonviolence.

Rationalised Issue Names
In case you're wondering about the "Oct/Nov/Dec" on the front cover, we took
pity on librarians and decided to rationalise our issue names by eliminating
the Dec/Jan issue name which straddles two years and at the same time
adopting the usual practice of naming issues after the months which
immediately follow their publication. Nothing changes regarding our deadlines
and publication dates. The next issue (No. 24) will be published in late
December or early January as usual and will be called "Jan/Feb 1992".
