Commonground An Experience in Living and Working for Social Change What is Commonground? Commonground Co-operative is an Australian based social change organisation commited to building a more egalitarian, non-patriarchal and environmentally sustainable world. We are guided by the principles of feminism, anarchy, and nonviolence. Our main area of work is in supporting and resourcing community, environmental and social change groups to operate more effectively. We live under one roof, sharing our money, our resources and the raising of our four children. Commonground is situated 95 km north of Melbourne and is accessible by public transport. We have an attractive 133 acre property which we are developing using permaculture techniques. We are also in the process of building the second stage of the Resource centre which will provide workshop space and accommodation for groups. We are now at a stage of expansion and are looking for people to come and live and work with us in the short or longer term. Visits of two weeks to one year are negotiable. We are also looking for people who are interested in becoming residential members. A Unique Experience Commonground offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to live and work collectively in a friendly environment. A visit to Commonground will help you develop practical skills including building and gardening and give you an insight into Australia's social change movement. In return for a reasonable work commitment, we will provide you with excellent food (mainly vegetarian), accomodation and stimulating discussions around the table, the fire or under the stars! Why Not Come for a Visit? If the philosophy of Commonground appeals to you why not arrange a visit by contacting Glen Alderson or Ed McKinley at Commonground, PO Box 474, Seymour VIC 3660, or phone (057) 938 257.
